To start off your weekend, here is a lovely blessing of light from the Scotts with my watercolor, "Passing into Light":

May the blessing of Light be on you, Light without and Light within.

When I think of Autumn, I think of the season's cacophony of color and scarlet leaves of the Red Maple swirling in the wind. Iris Scott captured the energy of the season perfectly with this delightful painting, which she created with her fingertips instead of brushes - and with stunning results.

Go placidly amidst the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. -from "Desiderata"

I escape the noise and haste where I live on Hatteras and find peace in the silence and beauty of the island. It's those things - peace, silence, and beauty - that inspire paintings like this one, "Marsh Ways", which depicts the Great Egret fishing along the edge of the Pamlico Sound.
