Despite recent successes, energy regulators have faced heavy criticism and distrust from customers following Winter Storm Uri, which hit the state in February 2021. Over two-thirds of Texans lost power during the storm, and nearly half lost access to running water, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.

Texans can expect consistency and stability from the state’s power grid, according to Pablo Vegas, the new CEO of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.

Andi’s is based in Richardson and also serves the surrounding communities, according to Administrative Manager Jamie Markey. One of the most important aspects of home care for those with memory loss issues is keeping them engaged, Markey said.

“They’re happier if they’re talking about something in the past,” Markey said. “That helps in their overall health and their demeanor.”

Andrea Taubman, owner and CEO of Andi’s Angels Home Care, started her company to provide in-home care because she had previously had difficulty finding care for her parents.
