My dearest daughter,
As I sit here tonight, a wave of memories washes over me, so vivid it feels like yesterday. The day you were born. The tiny bundle in my arms, your eyes squeezed shut, your grip a surprising strength for such a small person. It was the day my heart doubled in size, overflowing with a love I never knew existed.
I remember the countless hours spent rocking you, singing silly songs until your cries turned to peaceful sighs. I watched you take your first wobbly steps, my hands hovering nearby, ready to catch you if you fell. The day you mastered that little pink bike, your face beaming with pride, was a victory we both celebrated.
Every night, nestled under the warm glow of the bedside lamp, I recounted fantastical tales of dragons and princesses, knights and talking animals. Your imagination soared with each word, and I reveled in creating those special moments with you.
Later came the roar of the crowd at your marching band events, the nervous butterflies in my stomach morphing into cheers as you made that precise presentation. Each practice session, each moment of exhaustion you pushed through – I was there, your biggest fan, your unwavering support.
And then, graduation day arrived. Tears welled up in my eyes, a mix of pride and sadness, as you marched across the stage, your future stretching out before you like a vast, open road.
Remember, my love, through it all, the laughter, the tears, the triumphs, and the stumbles, my love for you has been a constant. It's a love that will always be your anchor, a safe harbor you can return to no matter where life takes you.
As you spread your wings and fly into your own world, know that I'll always be here, cheering you on from the sidelines. Remember the lessons we shared, the values we instilled in you, and most importantly, remember that you are loved, fiercely and unconditionally.
With all my heart, Dad
