CSO-4 rolling south through Windsor Locks. In the lead, the CSOR 8530 which has touched up paint on the nose as it would have originally appeared as a leaser.

I believe Providence & Worcester 2215 is the last survivor of Super 7s on G&W owned shortlines. I never have had the chance to catch one in action before today.

A random reroute of this 2020 SU99 put them onto the NJT at Saddle Brook for their run up the old Erie. Videos off my old iPhone 6S tend to be really bad.

The total of six locomotives pulled and pushed the SU99 up the mountain. Two on the rear assisted. Once over the summit they will have no problem getting to Binghamton.

NYSW 3014 and NS 5633 shove the back of the SU99 up the mountain.

For all the folks that want a full video of the whole train. Here the SU99 is passing through Excelsior Mills.

Helpers roll back through the rock cut after pushing the 99.

A total of six EMDs work hard up the mountain. The blue GMTX unit is enjoying a third stint on the NYSW as it previously was leased around 2004 and 2011. Two units are rear helpers which will be in another video.

Helpers on the rear of the 100+ car SU99 nearing the last few miles before the climb is over. The combo of the NYSW 3014 as well as their leased NS 5633 is a treat to have as the 3014 provides some color and the distinct turbocharged 645 noise while 5633 with its roots blower has its own distinct sound.

An intermodal train moves east towards Harrisburg, PA.

Tunkhannock Creek Viaduct is an example of something we most likely won’t see built again. The era of concrete arch bridges that are masterpieces has long passed with this and its little sibling being built in the early 1900s.

I was lucky to see the Lackawanna Heritage Unit on a northbound over the bridge back in 2024. This locomotive honors the very railroad that built this cutoff as the railroad used to be located in the valley.
