Adrian Elizabeth Harlow, 15, of Fullerton and Central City, passed away on July 10, 2025, due to a swimming accident.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hordville Event Center with Pastor Dan Walter officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14 from 5-7 p.m. at the Hordville Event Center. Interment will be held at the Central City Cemetery.

A 15-year-old girl has died after getting caught in the current of the Cedar River near Power House Park on Thursday afternoon.

Nance County Sheriff Ben Bakewell said that the Nance County Sheriff’s Office, Fullerton Volunteer Fire Department and Fullerton Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to a reported drowning on the Cedar River.

The Nance County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an explosion that occurred just after 11 p.m. on July 4.

Sheriff Ben Bakewell said that a homemade explosive was set off in the 400 block of Willard Avenue.

In the upcoming special election, Fullerton residents will have the opportunity to vote on the continuation of the city’s long-standing LB840 program — a key initiative supporting local infrastructure and economic development since 2010.

Originally approved by voters 14 years ago, the LB840 program allows the city to allocate a portion of local sales tax revenue toward targeted improvements and community growth. If renewed, the program will continue for another 20 years, helping Fullerton maintain momentum in building a stronger local economy and a more resilient infrastructure.

There are a lot of talented athletes in Nance County. Each week throughout the school year we chose two athletes (and sometimes more) and recognized them for their achievements that previous week.
