well it is a journalist page so i should include some journalism of the arts and culture variet6. here is a story about John Kraus and the Goers, a local Fullerton band (along with a couple of stalwart LA members from Rosie's Pawn Shop) who have a sound hard to describe but we'll worth checking out.
they will be headlining the Fox Fullerton at Saturday's Day of Music.

The Fullerton musician, who has played in Orange County bands since the 1990s, has released his second album with his current band, the Goers. It should make sense that last month John Kraus and the Goers dropped “Jug of This,” the ensemble’s second album inspired by sea shanties – except it ...

when I was in high school, and concerned myself with weighty concerns, they tended toward perishing in a nuclear war and graduating with the most absences of any senior in Rubidoux High School history without being sent to continuation school.
Students at this OC high school have far more immediate concerns

The play, onstage at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, was written and directed by O.C. School of the Arts faculty, and is being performed by OCSA students. The play is directed by one of the most accomplished professional stage and screen actors to ever work in Orange County. It is written by the count...

It's been some time since i remembered I even had this page, let alone posted on it. But though I don't journalist as often as I used to, my fingers do bush against the keypad from to time.
But now is not the time to regale you with anything I have written -- how gauche would that be?
Instead, I'll just trumpet the two awards from the Los Angeles Press Club's National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards I received in December, and the first-place laurel from the 2024 California Journalism Awards last month. I'm not sure why these stories were entered, who judged them or what the competition was, but I know they'll look quite fine wherever one puts these things.

This is the first of five stories that Culture OC will publish commemorating South Coast's Repertory's 60th season. It may not seem like it, but I started working on this one in early December and didn't file it until late February. And that was just part one. That was an unusually long time to spend on a story. Especially one that takes a look at SCR's signature accomplishment during its time: its development of new American plays. That story shouldn't take that long to write, because it shouldn't be that difficult. It has been written many times by many people for many outlets.
So why'd it take me so long? Beats me. But i do know this: although i would never claim this is any better than any other story written about SCR and new plays, I'd bet you one American dollar bill that is has never been appproached in this way.

Editor’s Note: This is Part 1 of a two-part series recognizing SCR’s 60th anniversary season, which continues through August. “Twenty-four years ago … two young men set out to start a new theater in Costa Mesa, California … since that time the South Coast Repertory Company has dedicated it...
