tos, and happenings you’ve come to expect and enjoy. Through hyper-local, resident-submitted content, we create an avenue for these individuals to get to know local organizations, businesses, and their neighbors on a more personal level. Along with our print medium, we also provide digital avenues on which our residents can connect. The final component which makes us unique is the many events that we organize. Local restaurants, spas, salons, and more share their products and services in order to garner a face-to-face relationship with the residents of Weston Lakes, Texas. There is no better way for a business to secure long-term success than to make the right connections.

👋 Say hello to Jacob, our September Kid of the Month and an energetic all-star who plays T-ball, soccer, basketball, and flag football! 🏈⚽🏀

He dreams of becoming a firefighter so he can rescue people and put out fires — heroic goals! 🚒🔥

At home, Jacob is the only boy surrounded by 3 sisters, 2 girl dogs, and 2 girl kittens — a true team player! 🐾😄

This Fall, he’s excited to cheer on Texas A&M and hit the field himself for flag football. His favorite TV show? WWE — no surprise from this action-loving guy! 💪📺

Meet our Athlete of the Month: Makynlee Gibson ✨ in the September issue of 🏘️

Makynlee is ranked #1 in the world in her Jiu-Jitsu division—an incredible feat for someone who only started two years ago. Funny enough, she didn’t even want to go to her first class! But after pushing through the confusion and frustration, she fell in love with the sport—and never looked back.

💪 She now trains up to 18 hours a week, teaches private lessons, and continues to compete at the highest levels. Even an injured wrist couldn’t stop her—she kept competing (and winning!) until her mom made her rest.

Makynlee’s advice for anyone curious about BJJ?
“Don’t overthink it… just try it!”

What started as a simple Facebook comment turned into something beautiful — a mural on the new well house at the Weston Lakes Nature Reserve & Bird Sanctuary!

KWLB board member Janet Bartek led the charge, designing the concept and organizing 18 youth volunteers, who painted for over 25 hours across 8 days — through heat, rain, and lots of laughter.
