Gahanna Scanning Intelligence Hub - Progress Update
We're excited to share a quick look at what we've been building!

The Gahanna Scanning Intelligence Hub is taking shape, and we wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes preview of how it's coming together. This video shows:

The Intelligence Hub dashboard in action
Our automated daily briefings (currently in development)

What's Next? Our Roadmap:
-Completing beta testing of core features
-Refining automated briefing generation
-Enhanced incident tracking and status updates (moving incidents from active to cleared)
-Planning volunteer weather camera network for 2026

Coming Soon - Beta Testers Needed!
In the near future, we'll be looking for community members to help test the Intelligence Hub before wider release. Beta testers will get early access and help us ensure everything works smoothly for our community.

🚨 Help Wanted: Radio Monitoring Volunteers for Gahanna Scanning 🚨

Gahanna Scanning is looking for community members to help monitor police radio traffic and relay critical incidents to our team!

What you’d be doing:
∙ Monitoring emergency radio traffic whenever you’re available

∙ Listening for active incidents and emergency calls

∙ Sending incident details and updates to our social media admins via Discord

∙ Providing real-time situational awareness to help keep our community informed

∙ Following our reporting guidelines to ensure accurate, timely information flow

What we’re looking for:

∙ Gahanna residents who care about keeping our community informed

∙ Ability to monitor emergency radio traffic using a scanner or similar device

∙ Reliable individuals who can jump in and help when they have time

∙ Strong attention to detail and ability to listen carefully

∙ Comfortable using Discord for team communication

∙ Ability to quickly and accurately relay information

∙ Understanding of basic emergency/radio terminology (or willingness to learn!)

What you’ll get:

∙ Training on radio monitoring procedures and our Discord workflow

∙ Access to our internal communications system

∙ The satisfaction of serving your community

∙ Become part of the team behind Gahanna’s trusted emergency information source

Time commitment:

Totally flexible! Help when you can - whether that’s 10 minutes or a few hours. No set schedule required. Every bit of coverage helps our community stay informed.

This is a volunteer position for a locally-built, community-focused service. Gahanna Scanning has been serving our community with free, real-time emergency information - built in Gahanna, for Gahanna.

In the screenshot you can see that headline is making it sound like there is an active holdup situation, when in reality it is just an alarm drop. Like we have announced in the past, we are developing something much better, where every event is reviewed by a volunteer before it pushes out. Stay tuned!
