This trio known as, NOT EXACTLY TOKYO were back to polish up some songs and do some hanging out. Probably the nicest band in FL and take inspiration from the Southern California-Orange County melodic punk sounds of bands such as, BAD RELIGION, NOFX, ADOLESCENTS and THE OFFSPRING. Fun times!

Always love seeing the youth setting out to be the next cool thing! Gabriel Arrindell is a fresh new drummer that came in to explore the opportunities of starting his new band with a group of buddies and it seems they’re on a really good track for doing just that. Looking forward to seeing their growth, it’s really inspiring, a great reminder we all started somewhere. Keep rockin’, Gabe! 🥁

TARIFFS are fantastic new band from St. Augustine, FL featuring members of TERROR MANAGEMENT BAND, LIQUID LIMBS, DREDGER and HARSH BANGS. Great, instrumental songs and a fun, energetic stage show. We were able to put them up for the night and talk so much shop about the old days and the new ones yet to come! Looking forward to seeing more of this band. 🙌🍻

Hailing from San Francisco, Fat Wreck Chord artists, DEAD TO ME came through LWS to completely rock the house and do a little hanging out before FEST. Very cool band that fans of JAWBREAKER, OFF WITH THEIR HEADS, THE THUMBS or THE SAINTS should take notice of. They’ll be playing a stacked line up Saturday night at 8pm in the Bo Diddley Plaza. Well, hopefully it doesn’t rain because THE MARK BARNER BAND came in last night and blew the roof off the studio! These guys ooze coolness and their musicianship is unreal. BO DIDDLEY, MORRIS DAY and THE TIME, MINT CONDITION, RAY CHARLES and JAMES BROWN are huge influences for these guys and it shows! They’re preforming tomorrow in Brooksville, FL at the CAMPING WITH THE BLUES festival. If you’re anywhere near there, seek them out!

I was so happy to see OTHER VISITORS back in LWS for the fall! This 6 piece of UF students have such a unique sound. Very Avant-garde, radical, experimental Art Rock complete with a couple QUEEN covers and a shark suit! Neat-O stuff and they’ll be looking for a chance to play out live for their very first time soon!

It was really good to see UNSCRIPTED back into the studio and with a somewhat new line up. All students at UF, they still find time to get together and jam. Influenced by everything from 70’s classic rock, all the way through to today’s alternative bands, they’ll be playing live TONIGHT at Macdinton’s Irish Pub (formerly The Social) . HYPERFUNKTION just finished up and what an awesome and unexpected, new band into LWS for the first time. It’s also their first rehearsals together in over a decade! They’re an ultra-cool band from Türkiye inspired by “70’s Turkish-psychedelic-funk”. All the style and total dog lovers for the cherry on top.
