The day flew by, but we can’t let it end without acknowledging World Vulture Day.
It is observed every year on the first Saturday of September. 🦅

Vultures are cleanup crew—helping to prevent the spread of disease by consuming carrion. Sadly, many species are now endangered due to poisoning, habitat loss, and declining food sources.

Today we celebrate these vital birds and raise awareness for their protection. 💚 📸 Brianna

Nesting season has past, so Animal Care Specialists were finally able to get in with the gator girls to tame the horticulture in their habitats. “Daisy” inspects her nest that was previously hidden behind tall grass.

Each spring/early summer the girls each build a nest and protect it as they would in the wild. We have no male alligator, so the eggs are not fertile. 📸 Amanda.

2025 Renovation of old feed warehouse to clinic area with surgical suite.

2024 The 20 plus year old main diet prep commissary was gutted and renovated. Wood cabinets removed, walls resurfaced, vinyl floor removed and replaced with industrial flooring. All appliances and equipment are now on wheels to fully facilitate thorough sanitation.
