Experience a "giraffe's eye view" from our elevated walkway that surrounds our mixed species African savannah exhibit. People often ask how our animal family stays warm when temperatures drop…the answer depends on the species and gender. While Animal Care staff provide species appropriate bedding and warming solutions for each, social species, like the female ringtail coatis often share a nest of bedding and snuggle.

Female-bonded groups (bands), display cooperation, conflict support, and strong social bonds (familial-like) that enhance foraging and survival. While adult males are mostly solitary. 📸 Seabaugh.
