I failed… 😔

Starting a business isn’t easy. There have been so many highs and lows. Times where I feel like I’m on top of the world and times where I feel like giving up. Times where I know exactly what to do and times where I’m completely lost. But that’s what I signed up for, right?

This is the story of one of my lows. It’s the story of how I failed to launch my business and the lessons I learned.

As entrepreneurs, we’ve signed up to take on ALL the risk. Which is cool because we live by the famous saying, “You’ve got to risk it for the biscuit!” 💪
On top of that, it’s impossible to not fail as an entrepreneur. Plus, as opposed to popular belief, failure is normal and should be embraced.

Why?

Because failure is an opportunity to grow. Life without it would be boring and we’d miss out on painful situations that lead to growth and breakthroughs.

Remember playing GTA on god-mode? It’s fun at first but it quickly becomes boring without the risk of getting BUSTED. 🤕

And I guess that’s a good way to wrap this up… As an entrepreneur, take calculated risks, learn from your failures, and stay in the game (aka don’t get BUSTED). 😄

❤️ I hope you enjoy this video and hope you’ve been enjoying this video series and hope that my journey helps make yours or someone's life a little easier. I have a lot of hope in you. 😊

This week we go over some on the financial aspects of launching a creative business. I also share some tips on how to save money and time when filing for your LLC and how to get your EIN number for free. (Hint: It's free already) At the end of this episode, I unbox the Autonomous Smartdesk 2.

This saved me time and money! ⏰💰

Starting a new business can be confusing AF. To say it crudely. Luckily, if you're starting a new business I've been documenting my own journey in hopes that it will help make someone's life a little easier.

One of the things that can be super confusing is filing for your LLC. Like anything else, once you learn how to file it, you realize it's pretty easy and can be done fairly quickly. However, you're an entrepreneur now! 😎 So why use your own time when you can outsource the task! Especially when you could be making more sweet sweet money. 💸
With that said, there are a bunch of sites out there that will file your LLC for you and most of them also offer a register agent service on top for free. Sick! At that point, it becomes a no brainer to have them file for you. Oh and about your EIN... Here's a sweet piece of adv-

"Josh... you're rambling..." 😒

Okay, okay, what I'm getting at is that it took me hours of research to figure out what company to use and what services I did and didn't need. So... just watch the video. 😅
I'm putting what I learned into these videos so you don't have to make the same mistakes.

PS - I would love to know your thoughts in the Youtube comments.

⚡️ BONUS: If you made it this far, here's an extra tip that's not in the video... Don't buy the Express Shipping. Just print it yourself and it will save you $25. Don't say I never gave you anything. 😉

I automated a new way to create content! My camera now follows me around. 🤖

All jokes aside, if you know me, you know I’m visual and I love systems. Last year I doubled down on creative (visuals) and this year I’m doubling down on systems. While I haven’t figured out how to have my camera follow me around... I have been able to create processes that streamline creating video content. Really excited to help people scale their video content.

Question: What systems and automations do you have in place that make your life easier?

To be honest, I've been slacking on my own content lately. This year has been crazy for all of us. For me, it's definitely been a wild ride. From going back to work as a freelancer, to moving out Gainesville to Jacksonville and then moving halfway across the country to New Mexico, to doubling down on myself and starting a business, plus everything else and all the world events... it feels like a whirlwind. I'm probably not the only one that feels like the year has been longer than normal. Shouldn't it be 2021 already?? But even with all that said, I still feel like I'm playing catchup. I still have so much personal footage that I haven't touched yet. Even though those videos are still lingering in my head, I knew I had to document this new journey in my life. Creating content on top of starting a new company will not easy and it definitely hasn't already... BUT I'm going to do my best to bring you along the journey as I build this company week by week from zero to launch. Hope you all are well and safe in these crazy times. And I hope you enjoy this first installment of my new video series! 😊

PS - I would love to hear your thoughts in the Youtube comments.

Been wearing a lot of different hats lately. 🧢

Yeah, I’ve been switching my physical head wear around but I’m talking about metaphorical business hats. For the last couple months, I’ve been juggling every role from sales to content creation. It’s been a ton of work and not to mention our move halfway across the country! 😵 Even with that said and all the stress endured, it’s been a ton of fun and I’ve learned so much! I’m happy to say that it’s finally coming to a head (no pun intended) and the pre-launch of my new company is set for take off next Tuesday! 🚀

(For suspense purposes that’s all I’ll reveal for now. 😉)
Hint: Mark your calendars. 📆

PS - If you want to watch me built this company from start to launch, I’m vlogging the whole process. 🤓

Quick little edit of an adventure we had. This was a couple weeks after the breakout and self-isolation. We were getting cabin fever so we drove around Jacksonville to kill sometime before we killed all of our pandemic snacks. ⁣

Excited for 2020 with my wolf pack. 🐺 ⠀

Last Friday I turned 31 and I’m so excited for the years to come. It’s weird to think a couple years ago I was freaking out about turning 25 and getting closer to 30. However, over the last few years I’ve realized that It’s all mind set and staying active. I’m 31 and still young. Thank you for all the birthday wishes.⠀
