Taylor Swift has officially announced her 12th studio album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ releasing on October 3rd.

On August 12, Swift sparked a frenzy when a cryptic countdown appeared on her website, ticking down to exactly 12:12 a.m. Moments after the timer hit zero, she unveiled the new album.

With longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback returning to the producer’s chair, The Life of a Showgirl is expected to bring back Swift’s signature pop. Think shimmering rhinestones and a theatrical flair. And in a move that has Swifties on the edge of their seats, Sabrina Carpenter joins her on the title track, a full-circle moment after opening for Swift on the Eras Tour.

From surprise guest appearances to jaw‑dropping performances, Lollapalooza Chicago 2025 was pure chaos in the best way.

Olivia Rodrigo casually brought out Weezer and Sabrina Carpenter surprised us with Earth, Wind & Fire. Tyler, the Creator’s stage presence was EVERYTHING, TWICE and KATSEYE both gave phenomenal performances and Luke Combs brought out Alex Warren to perform Ordinary. Plus countless other moments kept the energy soaring.

After nearly two decades of leading the university’s climate efforts, UF is shutting down its Office of Sustainability.

The office helped UF reduce energy use per square foot, expand access to clean power, build out waste and recycling systems, and conserve land. It also coordinated student-facing programs like Champions for Change, offered internships, and worked with departments and organizations across campus to improve environmental practices.

The closure is part of a university-wide effort to reduce administrative expenses by 5%. UF leadership says the decision will cut costs and improve efficiency, and that sustainability work will continue through Facilities Services.

But the office also served as a central hub for collaboration, student involvement, and visibility around environmental goals. Without it, students may have fewer opportunities to engage in campus sustainability work, and less access to a clear point of contact for those efforts.

Sydney Sweeney’s latest American Eagle campaign, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” was meant to be playful. But to many, it missed the mark.

People on social media have called out the campaign for feeling overly manufactured, with some arguing that Sweeney’s hyper-sexualized persona distracts from the product entirely.

What was meant to sell denim ends up feeling more like a performance, one that leaves the clothes as an afterthought, and the campaign, lacking credibility.

This isn’t the first time Sweeney has leaned into controversy for a brand. Her previous ad with Dr. Squatch soap, which included suggestive references to selling her bath water, sparked similar backlash.

Love Island star Jana Craig has confirmed her breakup with partner Kenny Rodriguez.

In a recent statement, Craig said she’s seen the theories circulating online, but none “match how truly terrible and disgusting it is.” She revealed she was blindsided and believes the relationship “wasn’t real from the start.”
