Last weekend I photographed Special Olympics Maryland Summer Games. It is my happy place, where I always feel at home, surrounded by incredible athletes and their families; friends and awesome staff. That feeling where everybody has each other’s back. I took this photo at the award ceremony for the swimming competition. Pure joy! For her and for me.

It's a wrap: the Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, Florida are coming to an end! Seven days of cheers, tears, joy and laughter; intense focus and action; comraderie and healthy competition. What a week! This is one of the first photos I took at the Opening Ceremonies and it embodies everything I feel right now. Thank you Special Olympics Maryland for letting me be part of this.
