Sunny skies will dominate the day as temperatures begin to gradually warm compared to recent days. While conditions will be slightly warmer, they will remain seasonably comfortable. A very slim chance of a passing afternoon shower exists, but any rainfall would be light and brief, with no significant impacts expected.

Here is your 3-day forecast!

The week begins under the influence of a lingering trough of low pressure, which will keep temperatures on the cooler side for Monday. However, a gradual rebound is expected as we move into midweek. Precipitation chances remain low through Wednesday. The most notable weather feature early in the week will be lingering smoke and haze, which may impact air quality before conditions improve and skies clear. By Wednesday, temperatures should climb back into the mid-80s, though not as oppressive as the heat experienced late last month.

Today will mark the final day of seasonably cooler conditions as a lingering trough continues to influence the region. Expect mild temperatures with a few passing clouds, gradually clearing by evening. Winds will remain light, and overall, it will be a pleasant and dry start to the work week with plenty of sunshine.

While I had planned to be posting forecasts by August 1st, all of the graphics that were made were deleted and I am having to remake all of them one at a time. This is a time consuming process, but I am very close (this time everything is backed up)!

Five days until full Knox County Weather Analysis launch! This means that on August 1st you will see a daily forecast right here on Facebook that looks something like this every day...

| A rather soggy day is expected across the area, with showers and isolated thunderstorms likely through the morning and into the afternoon. While precipitation chances will gradually diminish into the evening, some uncertainty remains regarding the exact placement of afternoon and evening rainfall. Overall, conditions should begin to improve by late evening, giving way to a milder and drier night.

There remains a low-end threat for gusty winds with some storms, particularly during the afternoon hours. However, the primary concern is heavy rainfall, which may lead to localized flooding. As always, never drive through flooded roadways. Turn around, don’t drown. |

Scattered showers are forecast to increase in coverage this evening and especially into tomorrow. Heavy rainfall is expected to accompany these storms and the National Weather Service has begun hoisting flood related alerts.
