WHAT a day in Galva! While we may have started with Mother Nature against us, it turned into a beautiful evening for The Back Road Music Festival.

Change of plans due to all the rain- please help us spread the word. The fields at Lake Storey are too wet for the pilot vehicles and balloons to be on. So, the Galesburg airport has graciously offered for the pilots to bring the balloons to the airport tonight. The goal is to have the pilots inflate at the airport on the concrete and stay inflated on the ground from 6-7:00 pm, weather permitting. The public will be able to come out and see the balloons and talk with pilots and crew. There will be no flight tonight as everything is too wet for the balloons to land. The band, Southern Exposure, will be playing at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 1556 E Fremont St in Galesburg from 7-10 pm and is open to the public. Mark & Lori Walker are from Florida. Mark use to play with Even Steven back in the 70’s. The drummer/mandolin player is from the band Pure Prairie League and the keyboard/guitar player is from the band Alabama. They play older rock'n roll. KC Hall will be serving hamburger, fries, and appetizers and will have the bar open. We will have the Event T-shirts, stickers and raffle tickets for sale at the KC Hall from 7-10 pm. While we realize this is not what we all wanted, we cannot control the weather and it is the best we can offer. Please come out to meet the pilots and see the hot air balloons and enjoy some good music. All activities at Lake Storey have been canceled.
