👽🛸 We were honored to be featured in Newsday's coverage of Steven Spielberg's new UFO thriller *Disclosure Day*.

Reporter Rafer Guzmán spoke with SciFiSland Editor & Publisher Lon Cohen about everything from the UFO craze of the 1970s to how *Close Encounters of the Third Kind* helped shape a generation's view of extraterrestrial life.

🖖 We're honored to be featured in Newsday's preview of this year's Trek Long Island convention, including a few thoughts from SciFiSland's own Editor and Publisher Lon Cohen (me 👋) about growing up with Star Trek and what the franchise has meant to generations of fans.

The article also highlights Trek Long Island founder Stefanie Gangone, whose passion, hard work, and commitment to literacy have helped build one of the country's most welcoming Star Trek conventions right here on Long Island.

And that's my longtime friend Chrissy Sampson Nower, pictured in an incredible Osyraa cosplay from Star Trek: Discovery. Chrissy and I go way back to our Patch days when she was editor of Three Village Patch and I was editor of Port Jefferson Patch.
