A tornado warning was issued for Oceanside and Baldwin Harbor Thursday night before being lifted 12 minutes later, as flash flood warnings hit most of Long Island and NYC.

Whales began disappearing from New York Harbor in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Cleaner waters and baitfish drew them back.
