A small UK pub on Friar Street says a young girl keeps appearing on the upstairs landing, then vanishing.
The Cardinal's Hat, at 31 Friar Street in Worcester, is close to Worcester Cathedral and sits on a street known for its old buildings and its ghost stories. Staff and witnesses say a young girl has been seen moving through the upper floors, sometimes called Emily by an enthusiast source, though who she actually was remains unknown.
Witnesses report seeing a young female figure cross an upstairs landing before disappearing. Staff describe strange noises, objects moving on their own, and the feeling that someone else is nearby. A former barman said he once heard someone clear their throat behind him while locking up after everyone had gone home.
Others have described sudden temperature changes and the sense of a presence in empty rooms. Keys and wallets have reportedly vanished only to turn up somewhere unexpected. During renovation work, staff say an old fleece was found hidden behind a wardrobe, with unusual burn marks on it.
An inn bearing the Cardinal's Hat name existed on this street by the end of the 15th century, though much of today's building is newer. Nobody has identified who the girl in white actually was.
Sounds like I need to get over there!
