We are so excited to have your student in the Garner Afterschool Program (GAP)! This year, we are introducing a new way to celebrate student attendance with special rewards and field trips every six weeks for students who meet their attendance goals.
For the 1st six weeks, students need to attend 15 days of GAP before 9/20 to meet the reward goal. Please note, to count as a full day in GAP, students must stay until 6:00 PM. Many students are already close to reaching this first goal!
We have created a fun tracker in the cafeteria so students can see their progress and know when they have qualified for the reward. To meet the next goal students will need to attend 30 days of GAP by the end of the 2nd six weeks (10/31).
Why is attendance important? Research shows that regular participation in afterschool programs boosts academic growth, social skills, behavior, and even attendance during the regular school day. All of these are key to helping students succeed and that is what we are about.
We will be revealing the 1st reward very soon! Your student will not want to miss this!
