I would like to thank all who are following this page. With the passing of the love of my life, Carmen Powls, Friday September 5th, 2025, and the several months leading up to this loss, my ability to focus on Verity Classical Academy had to stop. However, I am more determined than ever, as I look around me, and on the news, that getting this educational project completed has to become a priority in my life as I begin to write this new chapter. Instrumental Music Recital/Exhibition of nine local area students today @ 2:30pm, First Christian Church of Garnett Sanctuary. Open to family and general public. Please park and enter via south entry doors. The West sanctuary doors will not be opened due to weather conditions that negatively effect stringed instruments.

Allen County Community College needs someone with Masters Degree (or Bachelors as last resort) to take over Music Department "part-time" this semester. Please contact Melanie Wallace immediately if you, or someone you know, is willing to travel to Iola, Kansas to work with the Jazz Band and Concert Band in the afternoons. I took over the entire program in Dr. Anderson's absence which included music theory classes in the morning, Applied Instrumental Music Instruction throughout the day, Jazz Band, Concert Band, Semester Recitals, Concerts, and Final Exams to get them through last semester but it was agreed that my obligation would end after Dec. 15th, 2023. I have a business that includes instrument repair/piano tuning & repair D'Addario music accessories, and private students. I cannot do both in 2024. The contact information for Melanie Wallace is:
