It’s the most wonderful time of the year - the return of the 79th annual Gastonia Christmas Parade! 🎅🏻

Join us on Sunday, December 6th at 4:30pm on Main Avenue as the Jaycees host the Gastonia Christmas Parade, alongside the Christmas in the City and Tree Lighting event hosted by our partners the City of Gastonia and Keep Gastonia Beautiful, Inc. 🎄

Registration is live now at the Gaston Business Association’s event website, and register soon because it will close on Thanksgiving Day, November 26th 🦃 (link below)

Fees are $100 for businesses and $30 for non-profits, and this is one of the best community events for any group that wants to highlight their organization while connecting with the citizens and families of Gastonia!

🌿 A Hidden Gem in Downtown Gastonia!

Franklin Boulevard Media stopped by Wild & Whimsy Plant Shop in downtown Gastonia, and I got a little education on the world of plants!

The owner introduced me to her incredible 25-year-old Monstera plant and taught me a few things, including propagation and fenestration (those beautiful natural holes in Monstera leaves).

And here’s the best part my very own Monstera will come from that same 25-year-old plant!

It’s more than just a plant shop. It’s another example of the amazing small businesses and passionate people making downtown Gastonia special.

There’s something special about hearing someone who has made an impact on the national stage speak about the city that helped shape their journey.

Former NBA player and champion Darrell Armstrong recently sat down with the *Knuckleheads Podcast*, and throughout the conversation, he shared stories and memories about Gastonia, North Carolina!
At Franklin Boulevard Media, we pulled together some of those moments to highlight his connection to the GASHOUSE and the city we call home.

GASHOUSE STAND UP!

We are honored to be at the Nita’s Silent Hands Gala here in Gastonia.

Events like this are a reminder that awareness is about more than attending an event it’s about making sure our entire community is seen, heard, respected and included.

Gaston County is home to a vibrant Deaf and hard-of-hearing community, and we have an opportunity to do more to understand Deaf culture, learn American Sign Language, improve accessibility and build stronger connections between the Deaf and hearing communities.

Nita’s Silent Hands is doing important work to help bridge that gap through education, awareness, resources and community.

Gastonia is growing and as we grow, every part of our community should grow with us.

Tonight is about celebrating Deaf culture, but the conversation shouldn’t end when the gala is over.

Something BIG is roaring into GASHOUSE!

The Schiele Museum of Natural History's newest exhibit, The Elizabeth Williams Robinson Hall of Dinosaurs opens on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Hall of Dinosaurs is a 4,200 square foot, immersive exhibit, and is one of the largest dinosaur exhibits in the Carolinas.

It features full-bodied prehistoric skeleton casts, posed together in realistic settings. There are also authentic dinosaur fossils.

Hall of Dinosaurs will be included in regular museum admission. And don't forget, it's FREE to visit the 2nd Tuesday of the month, from 4 to 8 p.m.
