Kelli Sperino-Pease everyone!!! Warmly welcoming a brand new director to WGSU. We are thrilled to have someone with so much experience and expertise joining our team. Here’s a message from Kelli:
“Hello! I am very excited to be on board to continue the incredible WGSU legacy. I have an extensive radio history, dating back to the late 1980s and early 1990s! Eeks! 🤣 I earned my Associates Degree in Communication from Genesee Community College in Batavia, and my Bachelors Degree in Communication at SUNY Fredonia. I was active at both college’s radio stations, serving as a News Director, Music Director, morning show co-host, and co-host of an hour long variety show on WCVF at SUNY Fredonia. Professionally, I have worked at a number of radio stations (under the name Kelli Carson), most recently for the past 15 years at WCJW in Warsaw. I have served as an On-Air Announcer, Advertising Consultant, News Reporter and Anchor, Production specialist, and any and all jobs in between. I have also written news for a Rochester TV station - WHEC TV. I worked at Genesee Community College a few years ago as an adjunct Communication professor and advisor of their college radio station for a year while the permanent professor was on sabbatical.
Personally, I am the mom of two amazing boys - Tillison and James - who are now grown and on their own. I am an avid, lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Dodgers. In addition to working at the college, I have my own mobile DJ business, KC Sunshine Entertainment, and do weddings, parties, events, karaoke and trivia.
I am so looking forward to working with WGSU’s amazing, dedicated staff to continue growing the station and making the station an even more vital part of SUNY Geneseo and the Geneseo community,
