From The Crow's Nest 🪹

Today I am sharing just a small behind the scenes peak of my MS journey.

We just passed a year since my diagnosis and today I got my first big win! I've experienced several major progressions since the beginning of 2025, one being signal loss to the right side of my body. Not complete loss, but enough to cause a significant loss of strength in my leg and arm, drop foot and a destabilized ankle.

My PT (who is an angel and a saint) worked hard with me on walking, coordination, and dizziness (for awhile walking was almost impossible simply because of the extreme dizziness it brought on). The dizziness is almost gone now but will always partially exist, and after she made some adjustments to my brace today, I walked around the building PAIN FREE in my ankle and leg for the first time in a year.

I lost a lot when my MS went into overdrive. I am still struggling in so many ways. But today is proof that my hard work is paying off and I wanted to share it.

When I started Curious Corvid I had no way of knowing where my life was headed and what was going to happen. But along the way here, this little press grew beyond me into a community that now belongs to so many wonderful people. And it was you lovely people who have helped uplift me and remind me that I am here for a reason.

So, here's to my fellow chronically ill corvids. You're not alone, I see you. I know its hard when you look back and miss the version of who you used to be. But who you are right now is pretty damn cool too. 🫂💜

Cheer Crow

Today is just some quiet behind the scenes. I have a super neat little LED panel that connects via Bluetooth to my computer with fun, easy to use software that let's you make...Basically any pixel art you want!

If you also were a lightbright kid, you see the appeal.

Naturally, I had to have a waving crow to cheer me on while I am working.

But my kiddo? The first thing she made...was my name. Albeit misspelled.

It is wayyyy better than my crow.

We got you 🫂

Wow what a blow to the world, to our childhoods, to humanity with the loss of iconic people who influenced us and made the world a better place.

This is a great time to remind everyone why representation matters, why it is important for young people to see different versions of people, cultures, colors, contexts...the whole bit. We think back on people like Tim Curry and that first forbidden (as it was for Ravven) peak at Rocky Horror Picture Show and how it altered our perception of the world and about ourselves. Maybe we didn’t know completely how, we didn't have all the words because the understanding would come later. But we knew we were not alone.

And then we had Dolly Parton who could have hoarded her wealth like ELON MUSK, JEFF BEZOS, MARK ZUCKERBURG, DONALD TRUMP, ECT, but instead Dolly invested in her communities. She stood up for civil rights even when she got backlash for it, and she established the Imagination Library because she believed every child deserved the right to books and reading.

And if we zoom in closer, we all have those aunts, uncles, extended family, family friends, grandparents, who had an influence, who were a little different, but who left an impression nonetheless. Seeing and knowing people different from us is important. Diversity is our strength.

Today's post is just a reminder that our diversity is the shape that makes us click into place. Its what compliments us and helps us grow.

And you, the person reading this, maybe you've been feeling lost or unsure or disconnected from reality. We just want you to know that you don't need billions of dollars or a backwards corset and heavy glam to make an impression. All you have to do is be you.

Because who you are is enough. And who you are is worth knowing, exploring, and growing.

And thats what we are all about 💜🐦‍⬛

CAW CAW

Are you afraid of the big bad wolf?

"There’s a homestead deep in the mountains called Merkel Valley and werewolves den there. They’re a peaceful clan, focused on hunting game animals and preserving the traditions of Mother Moon from one generation to the next.

But there’s unrest in the pack, and it comes in the form of a rogue wolf named Merrill Sade. Banished long ago from Merkel Valley, Merrill has made his mark in the cities below with tooth and claw. He is a zealot obsessed with stories about an old feral god lost to time, and now commands a ragtag band of cannibals that serve at his heel. Merrill’s thoughts are rabid, and he has no qualms about wetting his fangs with innocent blood.

He seeks the remnants of a powerful relic known as the Crown of Carrion. If found, they open a doorway to a ravenous force that howls across space and time.
