Just wrapped up a full restoration on this stunning 1996 Japanese Takamine! 🇯🇵🎸
This one came in with some serious wear but a ton of character — and it deserved nothing less than a meticulous overhaul:
🩹 Drop-fill, finish repair & color matching: Addressed a large gash in finish on the top and blended it seamlessly back into the high gloss black.
🪵 Refret + fretboard restoration: Pulled the worn frets, cleaned and reconditioned the rosewood board, and dropped in a fresh new set with proper leveling and crown work.
🔧 Precision setup: Final tweaks and TLC to get it stage-ready again.
This guitar's back to singing like it did almost 30 years ago — maybe even better. Always an honor to work on instruments with this kind of legacy. 💪✨

Here is some repair work from fixing dings in finishes to rewiring guitars, rolling fretboards and installing bridge doctors. 🎶 Introducing one of the most challenging yet rewarding projects we've undertaken at Riley Guitar Services! This Taylor acoustic guitar came to us with a fretboard that had seen better days - worn down through the love of music. It required not just a refret but a serious revival. 🛠️We meticulously sanded the fretboard, infusing it with a new radius and life. Using precision and care, we crafted and filled it with matching rosewood dust and a special adhesive, restoring its glory. Employing multiple cleats, we secured the internal structure, ensuring integrity and tone. The bridge was carefully removed, re-glued, and reinforced with a bridge doctor for unwavering stability. To top it off, we provided a high-quality setup for a playability that's as smooth as silk. Now, this guitar is not just repaired, it's rejuvenated with a sound that's richer and ready to sing for years to come!
