One of my gates was struggling. One of the posts had kind of sagged over the years and it was causing the gate not to close properly. I needed to get the old, broken concrete out of there and pour some new...after making the post plumb again, of course.
I grabbed some 3” PowerPro outdoor screws and used those for multiple things. First, I put one into the side of the post so I could secure a post level to it. Then, once I got it back into plumb, I hammered a stake into the ground and used the screws to secure a 2x4 between the stake and the now corrected post. I didn’t need that puppy moving while I mixed and poured concrete.
Then, once it all set up for a few days, I removed the screws and everything was right with the world. Well, ok...the gate was straight and operational again.
