Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but before its turkey time… it’s time for the SGFF monthly meeting. Join us Tuesday, November 18th when our special guest will be Gabe Avalos.
Over the past 19 years, Gabe has developed deep expertise in fly fishing gear, tactics, and education, with a particular focus on modern techniques such as Euro nymphing.
Beyond his professional career, Gabe is deeply committed to giving back through volunteer work. He serves as a volunteer with Casting for Recovery, introducing women recovering from breast cancer to the therapeutic benefits of fly fishing. In addition, he is the State Coordinator for Reel Recovery, where he helps organize and lead retreats that support men living with cancer. Gabe is passionate about using fly fishing not only as a sport, but also as a means of healing, connection, and community.
Gabe’s talk will focus on Euro nymphing, sharing his knowledge to help anglers improve their precision and effectiveness on the water.
As always, our meetings are free and open to the public.
