The Rescue Dog Project

The Rescue Dog Project An Art & Advocacy campaign bringing attention to the strain on rescues and shelters all over the nation. Euthanasia isn't the solution. Speak for the voiceless.

We have to get to the core - reckless breeding. Dogs are suffering in overcrowded rescues. Shelters and rescues are over-crowded and dogs are dying, volunteers are drained. Finances are strained and there isn't enough funding to support the employees and trainers needed to home dogs. Dogs are hoarded, abused, neglected and abandoned. Some make it to safety and their basic needs are met, but they r

emain locked up. Rescues care and want to save them all but don't have the support, staff or time to enrich these animals lives to make them more adoptable. So they never learn and many surrenders regress. Too many have anxiety that turns into aggression while waiting for a new home. You can see their spirits shatter. Volunteers see this every day. They will not turn away because they also know the minutes they provide to any rescue dog matters. Volunteer • Foster • Adopt • Donate • ADVOCATE.

With so many Rescue Pals dogs currently in foster with intent to adopt and two more heading into homes this week, it’s the perfect time to remind everyone about the 3-3-3 Rule of adoption.

3 Days:
Your new dog may feel overwhelmed or unsure. Some shut down, while others go the opposite direction being overly excited, zooming around, jumping, or having potty accidents as they adjust. Everything is brand new to them.

3 Weeks:
They begin to settle into the routine and understand the household expectations. Their real personality starts to shine through, and behaviors like excitement or uncertainty usually begin to even out as they gain confidence. Honeymoon period ends and dogs start to test boundaries.

3 Months:
Most dogs feel truly at home. They’re bonded with their people, comfortable in the environment, and understand the rhythm of daily life. This is when a deeper, lasting connection forms.

Every dog adjusts at their own pace, but the 3-3-3 Rule is a great reminder to stay patient, consistent, and loving. The transformation is always worth it and our Rescue Pals dogs are proving that every week!

This sweet pup is still looking for a home!

🧡 This Thanksgiving, Whisper is thankful for:
• A safe place to land
• Full bowls and soft blankets
• Volunteers who believe in her
• The hope that her family is out there

And maybe… she can be what you are thankful for this year, too.

If your home has room at the table and in your heart for a young, happy, grateful soul, Whisper would love to meet you. She gets along with other dogs and is just one year old. She will need someone who has patience to help her learn and the ability to excercise her daily.

🦃 Give Whisper the warm, loving home she’s been dreaming of.

Message Rescue Pals to adopt her this holiday season!

*Microchipped, spayed, walked daily, and immunized.

Whisper’s DNA was done and she is Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, and Poodle.

What joy comes out of seeing animals just kill each other for sport, unless you are a sadistic mother🤬? These lowlife's deserve to be attacked. But you know; they will walk. Because at the end of the day, the innocent and vulnerable are never protected by common sense laws.

It was a great morning at the AAWL 5K.

The volume of people at rescue events means the work is being noticed, but the fact there are so many rescues in need of donors, volunteers and adopters means there's still way too much to do!

Advocate. Educate. Volunteer. Donate. Adopt. Foster. Thank you.

My dog Cheeto and I are walking for Wally and thousands of other cats and dogs rescued by Arizona Animal Welfare League on Saturday and attempting to raise funds for the animals in our community who are abandoned, abused and neglected – and with times becoming harder on families, the pets are often the first to be surrendered.

Cheeto and I would LOVE your support while we walk! Even just $10 helps these animals with treats, meds, supplies.
