Our Contributor Day team won two awards at WordCamp US 2026 at the Phoenix Convention Center.

I arrived with an idea and a 30-second pitch. That pitch brought together 10 talented WordPress contributors, including writers, SEO professionals, developers, and organizers.

Together, we built a functional SAB Local SEO Site Architecture Checklist designed to help Service Area Businesses create cleaner URL structures, avoid unnecessary location-page spam, improve internal linking, and prepare their websites for local and AI-powered search.

Our hook was simple:

“It’s not SAD. It’s SAB.”

What started as an idea became a working community resource in one day. The awards belong to the entire team and everyone who contributed their knowledge, feedback, organization, and development skills.
