I was standing here admiring Missy’s mane blowing in the breeze. She’s got a natural waviness and gorgeous highlights and lowlights. We are low maintenance gals so all it gets is a brushing every couple weeks lol. Talk about hair envy🤩

Sarge got to go to reining practice the other night to get exposure to a new place and horses. He also got some tie time. He was a good boy! He is proving to be very sensible and I think he’s going to be incredible and flashy under saddle. Only 1.5 more years to wait 😂
He is looking mighty fine and is finally starting to slow down growing taller, so is catching up with filling out.

Got out on my main man Addi yesterday, I’ve only been on him once since spring. Where did summer go?! He was magnificent! That 4 beat is music to my ears. My goal is to work/ ride him regularly from here on out. I sure love this boy and am looking forward to it ♥️

Moxie is getting a post weaning behavior refresher before she heads to her new home on Wednesday. She ties, picks up feet ( has been regularly trimmed since birth), fly sprays, takes wormer without a halter, and hops right in and out of the trailer. I can’t wait to see how she grows up!

Zephie and I tried our hand at a reining pattern! I am so proud of her effort and try at some stuff she has never done before- like rollbacks and simple lead changes. Her lope was on point tonight too- it took a lot of work to get her comfortable loping. She did really well her first time in an indoor arena with all kinds of new and scary stuff, and also with horses loping all around her including right towards her- That can really throw them for a loop. Also all while bitless! Super proud of this girl, she has come so far!

This was Zephie’s second session of the pole straddle of the day, after working on the balance beam so her brain was definitely challenged on opposites. This really develops individual limb proprioception and is deceptively hard. Good girl!

Zephie had a long weekend off of riding, so today I really worked her brain and on developing proprioception- awareness of limb placement. I introduced her to the balance beam. It’s 14” wide, so when they are first learning about it they want to step around. My first step is to get them to freely put their front feet on it. She did great!
