Introducing High Country Eclipse. Barn name TBD, but I’m leaning towards Moon. I ordered a chromed up red roan c**t, and the only thing I have to wait to see if they delivered on is the roan part. I am obsessed with his face marking even though I think it’ll keep him from being registered RMHA, he will have to be KMSHA. But I can’t complain because I love chrome!

Lacey has been the absolute best first time mom. She is completely in love with him, she stared at him for a good 5 minutes after he was delivered trying to figure out if he was real😂 She has always been an adoptive mom to the other babies in the herd and is thrilled to finally have her own.

I did have to assist with the delivery a little because one leg was farther back and I think his shoulder was stuck. Everything else was textbook. Placenta was expelled in 15 minutes, he was standing in 45 minutes, and 15 minutes after that he figured out the milk bar. That was actually easier than normal, he took right to it!

Super excited to see how he unfolds and moves, but he’s already nice and stocky. Addi’s highly anticipated first baby did not disappoint! 🥰

Day 324! Check this out…. Baby moving!!! So cool!

Addi and I are working hard on learning new skills…… like flying lead changes!! I think he’s having an easier time than me, Sometimes my body does not cooperate with what my brain is telling it to do😂😂 Bottom line is, it’s never too late. Get out there, give it a try, get vulnerable, and kick some ass!
Not too shabby for a gaited horse 🤠

This is a fun new setup we tried today. It took several attempts before he was focused since he had the mare he was currently breeding calling for him and another of his mares just over the fence wanting to visit😆 He has done each of these things individually.
The first beam is 12” wide, then a 4’ bridge, and then 15” wide. Another fun way to get them paying attention to their feet.

Inclusivity is not always how the horse world works. Especially when it comes to gaited horses in a stock horse area. There are so many misconceptions about them here, partly because there aren’t many of them in this area, and partly because sometimes the ones that are here are not great examples of gaited horses in regards to training and temperament. I am so lucky to have a wonderfully accepting barn in my area that puts on all kinds of western events/lessons/clinics that I feel welcome to attend. And lucky to have fallen in with a performance horse trainer who loves my horses for what they are- good minded and willing. She told me the other day that my horses are getting noticed and I’m making an impact and to keep it up. I can’t even tell you what a boost that is for me right now. So here’s your sign to be open to other trainers/breeders/ breeds/ disciplines. If you admire their riding/ training/ horses…. Tell them! It might make all the difference for them at a time where they are wondering what in the world they are doing😂🤪🥰

Bella and Missy are learning to trust each other and developing a partnership. It’s a beautiful thing to watch 🥰

Lacey Lou coming in for the night…. She hit 320 days! 🥳 She is getting closer, she’s had the tiniest bit of wax the last 2 days. The longer she can hold out the better, but she is on baby watch.

Bella worked up the nerve to take Jack over a couple obstacles that neither of them had ever done. A fun confidence builder!

Had a wonderful ride in Sundance today! Meeko is racking up the miles gaining real world experience through trail riding, rural neighborhood riding, and ranch land riding. Both solo and with another horse. He’s really gaining confidence and versatile experience.

But today I am so incredibly proud of Missy (by Acadiana’s DaVinci). This was her first time out on trails in probably 1.5 years. Keep in mind she’s 5. First time my daughter has ever ridden her. I pulled her out of the pasture for a quick neighborhood ride yesterday for the first time in a year, after our bad news, and knew she would be solid gold for Bella.

Really proud of the solid herd of young horses I am building that I would trust kids or novice riders on. That is the consolation prize for those hard times ♥️
