We just heard from State Rep. Mark Tweedy that the state DOT is thinking about increasing the fee for cars on ferry between Town of Glastonbury CT and Town of Rocky Hill Connecticut by $1. The department is holding a public hearing February 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Rocky Hill Town Hall, 761 Old Main St. The snow date is March 7, 5 to 8 p.m. They’re also accepting written comments by March 9. You can send them to the CT Department of Transportation, P.O. Box 317546, Newington, CT 06131-7546 or to [email protected]. Any fare increase would depend on action by the General Assembly.

The Town of Glastonbury CT boathouse at Riverfront Park has begun offering a bistro menu option for weekday meetings. Over the past few years, as the boathouse has become a popular venue for corporate events, clients have indicated they would like to bring in restaurant-prepared food for weekday meetings. That was not an option since clients were required to work with one of the boathouse’s preferred caterers, but the policy has changed. Clients hosting a meeting weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. can bring in prepared, catered food from their favorite local restaurant. To learn more, visit glastonburyboathouse.com/bistro or call Kristen Michaels at 860-652-4640.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has notified the Town of Glastonbury CT that a public information hearing scheduled for December 14 has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date. The department wants to look further into the cost of the project, which would remove the Exit 7 off-ramp from Route 17 southbound. The will post updates to the town website as they become available.
