Connecticuts Best cottage type bakers part 2: has a new small-batch sourdough spot worth knowing about.

We stopped by Bite Club • Stamford Sourdough in Stamford, a pop-up bakery started by Kristi and Rodrigo. They’re making everything in small batches, with drops that can include sourdough: Donuts, English muffins, bagels, cookies, cinnamon rolls, focaccia and more.

The catch? You have to catch the drop and pre-order because these sell out fast.

Everything was freshly made with a lot of care and attention to detail as you’d expect from a small batch company. A must try in that area.

Connecticut has only one spot selling small batch handmade Jamaican ice cream cakes. Freshly baked spice cake is wrapped around the 3 different iconic flavors: Rum & raisin, grape-nut & vanilla. The cake is similar to a Jamaican bulla spice cake with, molasses and warm, spices like cinnamon and ginger, which are a perfect pairing for all three flavors.

The Jamaican ice cream cake is only available on Saturdays, but they are open seven days a week and have one of the largest selections of ice cream creams and other specialty items that are must tries for all CT foodies and new Englanders.

For years, y’all have been asking me to start featuring home chefs. Honestly, I’ve always been curious, but I was also a little reluctant. But I finally said… let’s do it. 😂

Welcome to a brand-new series where I’m stepping into Connecticut kitchens and checking out what these home chefs are putting on the table.

For Part 1, I linked up with a culinary school grad who’s worked in some incredible restaurants — which is actually how I met her. Now she’s bringing together her Jamaican roots with formal culinary techniques and putting together some SERIOUS home platters.

On today’s plate: jerk pork ribs, mac & cheese, collard greens, yams, potato salad… and then came the real problem:

BANANA PUDDING CINNAMON ROLLS. 🤦🏾‍♂️🔥

Listen… that dessert made me want to block her because I already know I’m going to get fat just thinking about it again. 😂

If this is how we’re starting the home chef series, Connecticut… we might have a problem. 👀

More home chefs coming soon.

I had to see what all the hype was about with Saucy by KFC in Orlando — and this is definitely NOT your regular KFC.

The whole concept is built around crispy, juicy chicken tenders and an entire lineup of sauces. And when I say they have options… 11 signature sauces inspired by KFC’s famous 11 herbs and spices. From ranch-based sauces to sweet, spicy, smoky and Asian-inspired flavors, you can mix and match and really make this meal your own.

The chicken comes with crinkle-cut fries and toasted Hawaiian rolls, plus they’ve got sandwiches, bowls, drinks and desserts on the menu.

Honestly, the sauce game is what makes this place interesting. You’re basically walking into a chicken tender playground 😂🍗
