🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military members, and everyday Americans who ran toward danger to help others. Their bravery showed the strength, courage, and compassion of the American spirit.

We also remember the families who lost loved ones and the survivors who continue to carry the memories of that tragic day. Their lives were forever changed, and their loved ones will never be forgotten.

May we always remember how Americans stood together—not as strangers, but as neighbors united by love of country and concern for one another.

Today, we honor the fallen, remember the heroes, and stand beside their families.

FALL CAMPING ALERT — CAMPGROUND CLOSURES ARE STARTING ACROSS AMERICA
September camping can be fantastic—but this is the time of year when RV travelers need to start checking campground schedules VERY carefully.

Today, September 11, two campgrounds at Denali National Park officially begin their winter closures:
🚫 Igloo Creek Campground
🚫 Sanctuary River Campground
And tomorrow:
🚫 Teklanika River Campground closes September 12.
Here's the important part:
🏕️ A NATIONAL PARK BEING OPEN DOES NOT MEAN ITS CAMPGROUNDS AND SERVICES ARE OPEN.
As we move deeper into September, you can start seeing:
🚫 Campground closures
🚱 Drinking water shutoffs
🚐 Shuttle service ending
🚽 Dump stations closing
🚻 Restroom changes
❄️ Snow and freezing temperatures at higher elevations

But there is some GOOD NEWS for fall campers.
The Bureau of Land Management just announced that several Wyoming campgrounds will remain open after their water systems are winterized around September 29–30.
🏕️ Fontenelle Creek
🏕️ Scab Creek
🏕️ Warren Bridge
Once the water is shut off:
🚱 Bring your own drinking water.
🚻 Vault toilets remain available.
💰 And here's the best part — BLM will stop collecting campground fees!
Fontenelle Creek can remain open as long as the roads are passable, while Scab Creek and Warren Bridge are expected to remain open until late October or the first significant snowfall.
🚐 For self-contained RVers, fall can be one of the BEST times of the year to travel.
Fewer crowds.
Cooler temperatures.
Beautiful fall scenery.
And sometimes FREE camping.
Just make sure you check the individual campground—not simply whether the park or public land is open.

MAJOR RV TRAVEL ALERT — HIGHWAY 101 CLOSURES COMING AT OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK
If you're planning to RV or camp around Washington's Olympic Peninsula this September or October, SAVE THIS ONE.
The Hoh River Bridge on Highway 101 is about to undergo several COMPLETE closures.

And here's the important part:
🚫 THERE IS NO NEARBY DETOUR ACROSS THE HOH RIVER.
Trying to go around the other side of the Olympic Peninsula could add AT LEAST FOUR HOURS to your trip.

If you're planning the classic Highway 101 Olympic Peninsula loop, check your campground reservations and travel dates NOW.
Don't rely solely on GPS.

RV CAMPING ALERT — POWER OUTAGE TODAY AT CAPE HATTERAS
If you're camping along North Carolina's Outer Banks today, here's one you need to know.
Oregon Inlet Campground at Cape Hatteras National Seashore has announced a PLANNED POWER OUTAGE for Wednesday, September 9.
⚡ Power is expected to be out for a few hours.
An exact outage time has not been posted in the current campground alert, so RVers should prepare ahead of time.
🚐 IMPORTANT FOR RV CAMPERS:
Oregon Inlet Campground is NOT CLOSED.
The campground remains open and has:
🏕️ 107 campsites
⚡ 47 campsites with utility hookups
🚐 RV camping
🚻 Flush toilets
💧 Potable water
🚐 Dump station
🌊 Camping just behind the barrier dunes of the Outer Banks
If you're staying there today:
🔋 Charge your RV batteries.
📱 Charge phones and electronics.
💧 Make sure you have water available.
❄️ Keep refrigerators and freezers closed during the outage.
⚡ Don't assume shore power will remain available throughout the day.
And remember — Cape Hatteras weather can change quickly, so check conditions before traveling down NC-12.
