What if the heroes who inspired your story stepped right off the page and into real life?

That is what Jamboree feels like. Thousands of Scouts coming together to try new things, help others, build confidence, and take on their next great adventure.

More than a century ago, Robert Baden-Powell founded the Scout Movement to help young people grow in courage, character, and purpose. Today, we get to see that legacy come to life in every Scout we meet.

We have loved signing copies of George Goodwin, Dragon Slayer, hearing your stories, and meeting so many of the real-life heroes behind the book. Tomorrow is our final day at the Scouting America National Jamboree, so come find us, say hello, and join the adventure! 🐉⚔️🏕️📚

Every young person faces dragons.
Fear. Isolation. Anxiety. Peer pressure. The temptation to quit when things get hard.

The best adventures remind us that courage is something you discover when you're asked to do hard things.

That's why it was such an honor to join Roger Krone, Chief Scout Executive of Scouting America, on Praise to talk about George Goodwin, Dragon Slayer: A Scouting Legend and the role courage plays in shaping the next generation.

As Roger said:
"We have to tell this story."
And we agree.

We believe the right story at the right time can change the world.
That’s why we wrote George Goodwin, Dragon Slayer.
We believe the heroes our world needs are sitting in classrooms, gathered around campfires, and learning to lead in Scouting troops.

Yes, it's a story about a boy, a dragon, and an adventure beneath the mountains of West Virginia.

But above all, it's a story about courage.

If you've ever wanted to encourage a young person to lead with courage, I hope you'll join us for this conversation.

The Legend Didn’t End. It Just Got a Merit Badge. 🐉
Meet George — still slaying dragons over 100 years later.

In 1908, Scouting founder Robert Baden-Powell declared Saint George the patron saint of every Scout and sketched a dragon slayer in the original Scouting for Boys.

That 100-year-old legacy is hiding in plain sight. And it inspired every page of George Goodwin, Dragon Slayer: A Scouting Legend.

Same dragon. New scout. Available May 5.
