The Glen Rose Reporter received the official statement from Somervell County Judge Danny Chambers earlier today concerning the SCFD:

“The Somervell County Commissioners Court has not ever discussed defunding, downsizing or going 100% volunteer for SCFD. What the Court has discussed is exploring any and all avenues that would make the service we provide to Somervell County better.”

There is a $25,000 reward being offered by the FBI for information leading to the arrest of a suspect who shot an officer.

The suspect is Benjamin Hanil Song.

He was last seen in Alvarado, east of Stephenville and is considered armed and dangerous.

According to the FBI, he and 12 others staged an ambush style attack on officers at the Prairieland Detention Center, and ICE location. One officer was shot in the neck.

He is also wanted for attempting to murder 3 federal agents.

They fired approximately 30 rounds at officers.

3 AR-15 style rifles, and a pistol were recovered.

Song is a former US Marine reservist.

He is considered armed and dangerous and is trained in shooting from the Marine Corps.

Shared at the request of the US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas.
