Flower Power was in full bloom at WLC Northshore’s first Mahjong and Canasta Night. 🌼

Guests brought the retro spirit to Writers Theatre with colorful fashions while enjoying open Mahjong play, cocktails, hearty appetizers, raffle prizes, and plenty of laughter. 🎉

More than a night of friendly competition, the event created an inviting space to meet new people, swap stories, and celebrate the camaraderie that has long been part of WLC Northshore. 🀄

Colorful outfits, spirited play, and new friendships made this inaugural gathering one to remember. 💐

New advances are changing the way pediatricians identify and respond to Type 1 Diabetes. 🩺

In this month’s wellness feature, Dr. Joshua Levin explains how new finger poke antibody testing can help identify children at risk for Type 1 Diabetes more quickly and with less discomfort than a traditional blood draw. 🩸

The article also explores Teplizumab, or TZield, a newly available treatment that can slow the autoimmune attack on insulin-producing cells for some patients. According to Dr. Levin, earlier detection can help create the best opportunity for currently available treatments. ✨

For children and young adults with a personal or family history of autoimmune disease, targeted screening can be an important first step toward understanding their risk. 💙

After the Highland Park Fourth of July parade shooting, newly certified therapy dog Misty spent her final weeks comforting grieving families, students, first responders, and community members. Her quiet presence left an impact Craig would never forget. 💚

“When people feel insufficient, not strong enough, not smart enough, let a dog lead the way, and the healing will follow.” Misty’s legacy now lives on through A Dog Story: Misty’s Healing Power, an audiobook, educator guides, and an animated film in development. 📖

After an 11 and 6 finish and a trip to the NFC Divisional round last year, expectations are high. Will highlights Caleb Williams, D’Andre Swift, Kyle Monangai, Rome Odunze, Luther Burden, and Colston Loveland as key pieces of an offense poised for another exciting year. 🏈

The biggest question may be the defense, where added speed from Dillon Thieneman and Coby Bryant could make a difference. As Will writes, “This defense will be the deciding factor in whether the Bears make it far in the playoffs.” 🔥

For more than 30 years, Barbara Davis has been part of the Glencoe community, building a legacy shaped by integrity, service, and a genuine desire to help others succeed. 🏡

In 2013, Barbara launched Jennings on the Park on Park Avenue, creating a boutique brokerage centered on personal attention and thoughtful guidance. 💛

Her commitment reaches far beyond real estate, with service as President of the Rotary Club, a board member of Family Service of Glencoe, and involvement with the Women’s Library Club. 🌟

Peace, love, Mahjong, and Canasta took over Writers Theatre as WLC Northshore hosted its inaugural Flower Power Mahjong and Canasta Night. 🌸

Colorful outfits, groovy 60s music, cocktails, appetizers, raffle prizes, and friendly competition created a lively evening where longtime players and new faces could connect around the table. 🀄

“The Women’s Library Club Flower Power Mahjong & Canasta Fundraiser was a wonderful evening of games, food, drinks, groovy 60’s music, decor, outfits, and community at the beautiful Writer’s Theatre,” shared event co-organizer Kim Pressling. ✨

The night was a groovy reminder that some of the best community connections begin with good friends, good fun, and a seat at the table. 💛
