History doesn’t have to be boring!
We took a deep dive into the History of Pizza and brought it right into 2026 with a modern twist: Humans vs. Robots!
With tech and drones changing how we get our favorite food, this debate is so close to what's happening in the real world. Because it connects directly to their lives, my student found it so easy and exciting to write about! ✍️
And of course, we had to end the lesson on a high note with a fun video set to traditional Italian music. 🎶🇮🇹 Such a perfect, memorable wrap-up!

Nothing warms a teacher's heart more than watching an 8th grader analyze rhythm and write his very own Haiku. 🌸
It is so incredibly sweet to see him slow down, use his imagination, and turn a sunny day into beautiful poetry about rain. The potential he has when we just encourage him to observe and imagine the world is amazing!

Think poetry is boring? Not in my sessions!

This past Friday, we cracked the code on the 17-syllable Japanese Haiku. By using the 5 senses and clapping out the beats, my student went from stuck to instantly dropping three beautiful poems about nature and fruits.

Learning doesn't have to be boring when you have the right rhythm.
