Introducing Brent Well's latest rendition of "Ao bao Xiang Hui," which translates to "Let's Reunite at the Ao bao." This unique arrangement commences with a concise choral prelude, featuring the haunting melodies of the Erhu (or violin), beautifully adorned with traditional embellishments.
In the verses sung by the tenor and bass voices, we follow the poignant tale of a young man's journey to the aobao, only to discover that his beloved is absent. The subsequent soprano and alto voices reassure him with the promise, "If you wait patiently, I will hasten to your side." Ultimately, they are reunited, and beneath the resplendent moonlit sky, they harmoniously sing together.

The accompaniment dances up and down the keyboard while the choir tosses rhythmic fragments of the text to one another. The singers unite for the chorus statement which is full of praise and meaning.
