I was going through a dog bed stuffing donation looking for foreign matter and I came across a couple hundred 2.5 inch squares. I impulse sewed some into 16 patches. Then I looked at them and decided 25 patches was better. I decided to have some fun with the sashing and here we are! I could not believe someone casually tossed all of those squares! Hello! That's yardage!
The best part is that one of my employees had asked me for a quilt. When I go to Sweden in May, I will give this to her! Yay! Someone wants a quilt!

This quilt has been gifted so I can finally share! I made this for a collegue’s first baby . Baby is only 8 months old, so not too bad!
All the green and pink were from my house. Most are vintage 90’s fabrics. I only had to purchase the white background fabric.
I pieced and quilted the quilt myself on a Janome 7700 Horizon. The batting is 80/20 and the quilt has beenn washed and dried
I love quilting but am terrible at math. Like tragic.
When making this quilt, I accidentally made 150 extra, green half square triangles. 🤦🏻‍♀️
This is my first completed quilt in over 8 years. It feels so good to get back into this amazing craft.

From 2020 .....Fabric, supplies, notions, machine, batting all cost a lot more today and might get more expensive .. SO...

I had had a problem with not knowing what I have. Yesterday I decided to separate all of my solids from the prints. I was always buying more solids because I never knew exactly what I had. Well come to find out I had a whole lot more solids than I thought I did. I cleaned up the whole fabric area. I am thinking about using that top shelf for fabric, I need a taller ladder. It's wasted space, I haven't been up there in years.

I had a pile of fabrics for a local destash sale that didn’t “go together”, so I sorted some of the most unlikely combinations and challenged myself to make a successful quilt with them. I learned SO much and this is the result. No pattern, 4 inch finished squares with 2 in finished triangles. Although I have others that are prettier, this quilt is one of my top 3 favorite quilts. Titled DNA.
