Nimrods, the new movie inspired by Green Day’s early years, is officially out today, August 14.
Directed by Lee Kirk, the film follows three teenage friends and aspiring musicians who hit the road from Kansas City to Los Angeles after mistakenly believing their band has been invited to open for Green Day on New Year’s Eve. What follows is a chaotic cross-country journey filled with punk rock, friendship, ambition and plenty of trouble along the way.
Nimrods features a soundtrack packed with Green Day classics, live recordings and new music, including “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.” The film is produced by Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, who also appear in the movie.
