If anyone is interested in hearing some comments from the superintendent in regard to what was written in the newspaper last week, please go to this video of tonight’s board meeting at minutes 1:45:36 and we see him address what was written in the newspaper and also hear from other board members. It is important to hear their comments and not rely on getting information from just an editorial piece. The board member comments begin at 1:55:13, I encourage everyone to continue to watch until the end from that point for additional comments. 👍🏻 I’m not sure if everyone knows these are live. But here it is:

Reminder: Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 15th, The Gilmer County Health Department will be doing a blood screening at the Gilmer County Senior Center starting at 8 till 10:30 a.m. for Gilmer County Seniors. There will also be a Health Fair from 8am-12Noon. We have invited several representatives and businesses including: Gilmer Co. Health Dept, GSU Fitness Center & Pool, Community Care of Flatwoods, Walmart Eye Center of Flatwoods, Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, WV Hope & Caring, United Bank, Calhoun Co. Bank, Minnie Hamilton Health Systems-Grantsville, Elbin Hearing, and the V.A. Representative. There will be lots of information and opportunities you do not want to miss!

Join us along the route for a send off for the GCHS Varsity Girls Basketball Team on Tuesday, March 7 as they make their way to Charleston for the State Basketball Tournament. (They will play on Wednesday, March 8 at 11:15 a.m.) The following course will be followed for the send off:

1:30 – Depart GCHS
1:32 – Main Street
1:35 – Hayes City
1:37 – Vanhorn Dr/Board Office
1:40 – Nursing Home Loop
1:42 – Gilmer Co Elementary School for a walk thru parade that will last about 10 min.
1:52 – Route 5 East to Charleston
