I answered many questions about where I’ve been on Gloucester 411. It was suggested I let everyone know on the station page. So for those that didn’t see it here’s what I wrote…..

This is Neal Steele. First, I want to thank everyone for the texts, emails and cards.
Where have I been? In August I had a lot of pains in my lower back. Turns out I had a very serious infection in my lower spine. After the operation on my lower spine, it showed up in my right knee and another surgery. Total 69 days in the hospital and rehab. Still working on recovering.
Now to the present, from June to my specialists, nobody thinks I should be getting up at 4 and driving an hour.
Please remember, I was there for 21+ years doing a show different from anything on the radio. That is a hard act to follow.
Jay is a local man with a totally different on air style. He’s a lot easier to accept than I was. A lot more of the music you like and a lot less of my talk you didn’t.
Thank you again for understanding.
