Mathews Rotary's fifth annual fundraising event Party With a Purpose is focused on raising money for new high school band uniforms. The uniforms are 25 years old and are in dire need of replacement. There are currently 40 students in the high school band and 45 up and coming band students in grades 6 and 7.

The event is Sunday, June 7 from 4pm to 7 pm at Williams Wharf. A section of the high school band will be performing at the start of the festivities with The Tom Euler Trio playing the rest of the event.

There will be food trucks On the Flip Side, Positive Pizza and Shortlane Ice Cream. A beer and wine truck will also be onsite.

Adult tickets are $40 which includes one drink and students are half price at $20. Kids 12 and under are free.

Tickets can be purchased at Chesapeake Bank Mathews branch, MCVIC and Haskins Bayside Service Center in Port Haywood. Tickets and sponsorships can also be purchased from any Rotarian or on the club's website www.mathewsrotaryclub.org

In the past, Rotary's Party With a Purpose has supported the Mathews Family YMCA Preschool, Williams Wharf, Meals on Wheels and the New Point Comfort Observation Deck.

Walter Reed Post Acute is hosting a Educational Presentation for Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers, and anyone approaching Medicare eligibility.

All are welcome to join us on Wednesday, June 24th from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Main Street Branch of the Gloucester County Library to learn the basics of Medicare, including eligibility, coverage options, and enrollment tips to help you make informed healthcare decisions.
