🏈✨ KD Cup 2026 brought the energy to Lewis and Clark College on March 26th! With four teams competing, the highlight was “Fun with Flags Football” — a safer, strategy-filled twist on the classic game that made it easy (and fun) for everyone to join in.

From creative plays on the field to nonstop cheering on the sidelines, the day was all about inclusion, teamwork, and unforgettable moments. More than just a competition, KD Cup continues to shine as a celebration of community, connection, and pure fun.

At the end of the day, it wasn’t about who won — it was about the memories made and the joy of playing together. Can’t wait for next edition! 🎉

The Lewis & Clark men’s soccer team earned an important 2–0 win on the road against Maryville University in a match defined by intensity, physical play, and smart decision-making in key moments.

Just before halftime, one of the most controversial moments of the game occurred. LC found the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed for a very questionable offside call, sending the teams into the break tied 0–0.

The game finally broke open with 20 minutes remaining. The referee awarded a free kick right at the edge of the box, and that’s when the cleverness came into play. Javier Lopez quickly took the ball while the opposing players were forming a wall without having asked for the required distance. With the goalkeeper still organizing the defense, he smartly struck the ball into an empty net to give LC a 1–0 lead.

After conceding, Maryville University pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but their urgency led to another costly mistake. They gave away a second dangerous free kick near the box. This time, Craig delivered a perfect ball to the back post, where Piggy finished with an outstanding header to make it 2–0.

After the match, Piggy highlighted the team’s effort and ability to capitalize on key moments. "We knew it was going to be a very physical game and that we had to take our chances. Craig’s ball was perfect, and I just had to guide the header. This team never stops believing, and we showed that today."

A hard-fought and intelligent win for LC, who showed resilience under pressure and made the most of their opportunities to secure a valuable result on the road.

The women’s soccer team from Lewis and Clark Community College faced a tough opponent in University of Missouri–St. Louis on Tuesday, March 10, at Glazebrook Park. The match ended in an exciting 3–3 draw after three 30-minute periods.

After the game, midfielder Lina Rey highlighted the team’s resilience. “We showed a lot of character today,” Rey said. “Even when we were tired and the game got difficult, we kept fighting until the very last minute.”

Rey also praised the team’s mentality throughout the match. “We had great possession in the first part and created many chances,” she said. “Matches like this help us grow as a team and prepare us for the next fall.”

The draw reflected a competitive match between two determined teams and demonstrated Lewis and Clark’s ability to respond under pressure.

📖In April, Reid Memorial Library added a new link to its website where students, teachers, and staff can request books. The link is on www.lc.edu/library. This
new feature lets people ask the library to buy books they want to read.

Laura, who works at the library, used the link to request several horror books. The library reviewed her list and ordered many of the titles. Now those books
are available for students to check out.

This new system helps the library know what students are interested in. Instead of guessing what books to buy, the library can now hear directly from students.

The process is simple. Students go to the library website, fill out the request form, and submit the title and author of the book they want. Library staff then
decide if they can purchase it.

The new feature gives students a voice and helps make the library better for everyone. Reid Memorial Library encourages students to use the request link
and share the books they would like to see next
