Needle Rat Press Needle Rat Press was originally founded in 2010 as a textbook publisher. Jonathan Burnside became an owner in 2012, with Joshua Fox joining in 2013.

Jeremiah Blanchard, one of its founders and an instructor himself, was frustrated by proliferation of highly-academic, thick textbooks and lack of classroom and reader driven titles. While Needle Rat Press LLC has expanded beyond this initial purpose, its goal remains the same - to partner with authors and bring reader and environment tailored texts to the marketplace. ialize in bringing content to print and digital mediums through unique processes with greater flexibility which allows us to publish a wide variety of texts, from short-run niche textbooks to high-demand print and digital trade books and novels. Rather than act as a middleman, we endeavor to be an equal partner with content creators, providing the avenue for them to bring their works into homes, schools, and businesses. We aim to incorporate useful, disruptive technology into the publishing world to change and improve how people gain access to works of a literary nature.
