This face says it all. 🥹🐴
Eyes closed. Tongue out. Licking, chewing, relaxing… and finally letting go.
This guy has been trying to tell us that something just isn’t right.
When saddled, he was shaking his skin like he was trying to get something off his back. Tossing his head. Looking back at his rider every few steps. Basically SCREAMING in horse language, “Something hurts. Please listen to me.”
And we listened.
He still has a vet visit coming, because we absolutely want to rule out anything medical that needs to be addressed. But before jumping straight to more invasive treatments, we wanted to start with a more natural, whole-body approach and have him evaluated by an equine osteopath.
Especially because the last thing we want to rush into is something that has become incredibly common with performance and barrel horses: injections.
If there’s another way to help him feel and move better, we want to explore it first.
Watching him soften, close his eyes, lick and chew, and completely relax during his session was pretty incredible. ❤️ Sometimes our horses are telling us exactly what they need—we just have to pay attention.
And if you need what I can only describe as a “horse whisperer”… I know the PERFECT person. 😂🙌🏼🐴
Performance horses work hard for us. The least we can do is listen when they tell us something doesn’t feel right. ❤️
