Yesterday took me by surprise a little bit. I went to get my Texas drivers license,which I wanted so I could register to vote. I had to "surrender" my AZ license, their word not mine. Surrending my license was another step in leaving AZ.Giving up the stupid little laminated card with the questionable photo that said I lived in AZ made me sad. It never occurred to me that it would, as I love being here with my family. I am enjoying the country life and feel good. Holding two opposite emotions at the same time is always interesting. Happy and sad at the same time so I am making space for both of them as my adventure is not just a physical one, it is also a spiritual and emotional one too.
My son Nathan Ramsden and my DIL Cindi Ramsden heard I was all in my feels yesterday so today he brought me a bouquet of flowers she picked from the garden. After he left I cried a little. A little sadness mixed in with a whole bunch of love will make a girl cry at times.

Today it is raining out with thunder and I noticed something here in Texas. We do have storms where the thunder is a big crash boom and scares the crap out of you. We also have a lot more thunder that sounds like my belly on a really gassy day but the volume is turned way up. And it sometimes shakes the house, kinda like a big old toot shakes the chair your sitting on.

It has been quite a few years since Nate and I were together on Mother's Day so today was a special treat.
Nate asked, "So what do you want to do on Mother's Day?" I replied," Can we go on an adventure and look for wildflowers?"
The answer was yes, so we spent a few hours in the Jeep with the top off roaming the countryside together. Here is what we found along the way, including some wild animals in the cow pasture.

It has been years since I have had to deal with so many bugs especially the ones who bite. We have fire ants, mosquitos, no see-ums,scorpions and goodness knows what else. And since we have horses we have flies. Been awhile since I needed bug spray and a fly swatter. Still loving it here, just spending a lot of time slapping at things, missing and hitting myself! 🐜🪰🦂🦟
