Tonight's Friday Fav is none other than legendary filmmaker 's 1980's classic, The Fog. John Carpenter is a master of both blood / gore and atmospheric horror. He is well capable of making us cringe with the gore, as evidenced in another of his masterpieces, The Thing, and create an overwhelming sense of the creeps such as in his hit film The Fog. What I loved most about this film was that it was essentially an eerily told ghost story about vengeance from beyond the watery grave and had a great dose of mystery that enveloped the film. I loved that he kept Blake and his fellow Mariners' faces cloaked. Add to this such horror legends as , , and Hal Holbrook as Father Malone and it's no wonder this movie is an enduring horror classic. I'll be watching this one tonight.
