Happy Saturday, Farm Friends!
Here’s some cute photos of Lucy judging my beginner gardening. She wasn’t impressed, and made sure to let me know Martha Stewart wouldn’t approve. Well, you gotta start somewhere🤷♀️ I can’t wait to show photos once everything is grown in. Hopefully the bunnies won’t eat everything.
This is Scott’s little serama baby. He feels guilty about moving her outside and out of the garage. Harder to sneak out for late night snuggles. He hopes it’s a girl, but I’m thinking it could be a little boy.
Just sitting on the porch listening to another storm rolling in. Grateful for the rain, but we’re expecting family to visit later this afternoon. I know their grandbabies really want to see the chickens.🐓 Maybe things will dry up soon. I’ve been praying for everyone impacted by these storms. Please stay weather aware y’all.🙏
It’s been a week without our little farm dog Gatlin, so things have been different. Scott and I managed our grief by sweating it out in the garden, but I had to take a little break. Thanks for all the encouraging words and support!😊 It’s getting easier. I saw a post about someone losing a favorite rooster last night and it got me sobbing again. I miss the little guy, but we’re comforted knowing he’s no longer suffering.
And it’s hatch day! We loaded a small number of serama eggs, and now we have 6 little chicks so far. It’s always so exciting! Power went out twice during this hatch, so I’m beyond grateful for these babies. I’ll post pics soon. Anyone else hatching?🐣 Wishing you tons of success! Have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe!
