Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of editing a podcast? In our latest episode of Podcast Answers, I am pulling back the curtain to explain the exact choices I make when editing audio.
I break down my entire workflow, starting with why recording multitrack on a Rodecaster Pro is an absolute must. I also dive into how I bring those tracks into Adobe Audition to process them using gates, compressors, and limiters to get the perfect sound.
Even though I prefer a "live to tape" mindset with minimal editing, I share some of my favorite time-saving tips for editors. You will learn why you shouldn't cut out all the natural pauses in a conversation, and why I tell my clients to stay completely silent for 15 seconds after making a mistake so it is easy to spot on the timeline.
How do you edit your podcast? What does your workflow look like? I would love to hear from you in the comments, or you can reach out to me at podcastanswers.com/contact if you need help editing your own show
