The greatest payment from my customers is the smile I see when they see what I have made them. Hello and welcome to the grand reopening of Mama Jen's! I am so happy that you are here, I began as a cottage home baker in Michigan in 2017 after retiring from being a paramedic for many years. I have always enjoyed cooking and baking for my family, and one day i decided to start decorating some sugar c

ookies and realized that while I was creating, my mind was clear of all the things that it had been trying so hard to forget. With the support and encouragement of my husband, kids, and co-workers, Mama Jen's was born. I have had the nickname Mama Jen for quite some time from my friends and then co-workers who always came to me with their problems or needed some encouragement, and always called me Mama Jen because they said I was always taking people under my wing. I put that same amount of love into everything I do and I get true joy whenever someone tells me how much they enjoyed what I have made them. I can make just about anything. I love to make breads, pies, cakes, cookies, candy, you name it. I am always up for anything, just have to ask. I look forward to growing with the Michiana community and getting to know and serve you all.

Two public servants have dedicated their lives serving our community without hesitation. Now, they need our help.

Officer Megan Borrelli of the Mishawaka Police Department and her husband Alex, a firefighter with the South Bend Fire Department, have dedicated themselves to protecting and serving others. They are also raising three young boys.

Recently, Megan was diagnosed with breast cancer. As she begins treatment, we know the emotional and financial strain this brings. Let’s come together to ease their burden.

You can support the Borrelli family by purchasing a Borrelli Strong shirt or sweater: https://borrellistrong.itemorder.com/shop/home/

Every contribution helps this incredible family focus on what matters most: Megan’s recovery and their three boys. Thank you for showing them the same strength and support they have always shown our community.🩷💙

Santa was kind enough to lend me a couple of his elves, so I could bake up some goodies.

2 dozen kieflies done right now, I’ll have, at least, 3-4 dozen more tomorrow.

$15 per dozen. Pick up in Brookside Manor.

🚨 NOW HIRING: LINE COOKS 🚨

Biebs and Ash Smashburger is growing 👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽

Between the food truck hitting the road in the coming months, a few of our crew heading off to school, and others chasing new places to call home, we’ve got room on the line for one full-time or a few part-time line cooks to join the team.

We’re looking for people who:
• Show up ready to work
• Take initiative and move with purpose
• Thrive in a fast, high-volume environment
• Work well as part of a tight, supportive team
• Care about consistency, cleanliness, and doing things right

If you like a busy grill and industry leading pay for demonstrated culinary badasses, as well as clean systems, and a crew that has each other’s backs…you’ll fit in just fine here.

Sound like you?

Oz-man checking in! Continued nonstop playtime has been on the agenda-the more snow, the better! This is what being a shepherd is all about!

Thanks to Ozzy many more people have come forward to report animal cruelty and neglect. Our caseload has been through the roof and we apologize for any delays.

-----
For those who don't know WHY Ozzy is extraordinary: Ozzy was found discarded roadside, tied in a garbage bag. Incredibly, a community member driving by with her window down heard him screaming for his life, and she saved him, contacting A.S.K. immediately for help.

Ozzy was admitted to our vet in critical condition: he was actively experiencing seizures, covered in maggots, wounds, urine scalding all over his tail and behind. He was unable to stand up.

It is surmised that he was tied in the garbage bag over 24hrs, pawing desperately to escape. He was only approximately 6 weeks old.

Ozzy experienced head trauma presumably from being thrown from the car. As a result, Ozzy suffered acute clinical blindness and deafness, but slowly has had his vision and hearing return to normal! The impact from being thrown out of the vehicle can cause both to be lost forever, or only short-term.

Ozzy is a miracle survivor who has now become an Ambassador dog for All Species Kinship, living a normal, albeit exceptional life (we do everything with our dogs) with his new family here. He is not available for adoption and is closely bonded to the family and his dog siblings.

Broke down crying in the office because I told him how I am so sick of my life being controlled by pain.

He said I have 3 levels in my cervical spine that have significant damage, but he’s not convinced it would fix my symptoms by doing 3 level cervical fusion (I’ve seen those, they are not fun).

He thinks doing a rhizotomy would be the better option for pain control (burns the nerves in my neck. I’ve had it done a few times in my lower neck).

I told him that the injections that were done on my neck helped the pain in my neck, but still not the area between my shoulder blades. I also told him that my lower back puts me in excruciating pain just by doing normal activities, at which point I broke down crying because I told him that pain controls my life and I can’t take it anymore.

That said, he’s doing an MRI of my thoracic spine and getting a new MRI of my lumbar spine to see what all that says, and then I’ll go back into him and go over what the official word will be.

At least he’s looking at the entire spine and going from there. I hate this. I hate every bit of it, but at least he’s getting a full picture.

So we will see what happens from there.

Thank you again for all of you that love me and support me! You have no idea how much that means to me.

It's an Ozzy goodnight ❤️

We appreciate all of our dog outreach clients who have brought their dogs inside during these life-threatening temperatures.

As we have told clients all day: no amount of straw can protect your dog fully from these below freezing temps.

Every single dog outreach visit includes meaningful conversation (when people are home) which is the purpose of our visits. We may not always agree, but we can agree to listen.
