I missed his high five 🥹,but look at that goofy silly face!

Ozzy is the product of a backyard breeder. He was covered in maggots, urine-stained and skeletal before he ended up tied in a garbage bag on the roadside.

Where is his Mother? Where is his Father?

Who has his siblings and how can you look at yours daily, a puppy you likely PAID this monster for, knowing the others were maliciously killed (or in Ozzy's case-attempted to be). Speaking up to protect the victims will always be on the right side of history.

Our community won't forget.

OzzY's tail is almost always wagging: he is happy, bright and social.

And no, he is not available for adoption.

We are evaluating Ozzy as an Ambassador Dog like Persia was, and if he doesn't meet that criteria due to his comfort level, he will still remain with an A.S.K. team member unless we feel he needs a different fit. He is a PUPPY so his needs are continually changing. We aren't rushing a decision because we don't have to. There are literally thousands of dogs locally who need homes and are available to adopt right now.

We were tremendously busy BEFORE Ozzy, and "after" Ozzy our requests for services have further magnified, however NOT in the capacity of our focal services--moreso in: "can you take this stray dog/cat or can you take MY dog/cat."

We/you/them will NEVER rescue our way out of this crisis. That is why our free spay/neuter is so essential. We save way more lives by preventing more dogs from being chained or otherwise neglected in the first place.

A.S.K. formed to provide unique direct outreach services focusing on guardian retention to KEEP companions in their homes with improved quality of care. THAT is our focus. It is in-depth and difficult work.

The dogs we choose to take in as "rescues" are last resort circumstances primarily for dogs ALREADY ESTABLISHED WITHIN OUR OUTREACH services. And everything we do is a function of our time and available fosters. But traditional rescue is the smallest aspect of what we actually do!

Dr. L went over my MRI with me and I have bone spurs, degeneration, arthritis but no major cord compression. He’s in no hurry to do surgery on it (which is fine). Ordered an EMG on my arms to check on what’s causing the numbness in my left arm and hand, and make sure it’s because of my neck and not carpal tunnel. If that doesn’t show anything, I get an MRI of my thoracic spine because of the pain I get there.

He was really nice and just asked for some more time to investigate and totally understood me not wanting to keep having injections over and over.

So we will see. One day at a time.
